Malik & Louis Tomlinson Will Come Together for Netflix Travel Show
Former 1D members Zayn Malik and Louis Tomlinson are set to come together for a upcoming Netflix travel documentary series.
This docuseries will reportedly track the pair as they travel across the United States. At the helm will be Nicola Marsh, who previously worked on the Demi Lovato documentary called Child Star.
The news comes approximately a year after the unfortunate passing of their former bandmate Liam Payne, who died in an accident in Argentina. In a tribute shortly afterwards, Malik referred to Payne as his “family” during a performance, while Tomlinson called him “the most vital part” of One Direction on social media.
This group, created on The X Factor in 2010, rose to become one of the biggest-selling male groups in history, selling over 70 million records. Malik left in 2015 and has since built a solo path, while Tomlinson released his latest studio album earlier this year.
Before Payne’s passing, rumors indicated that the group was planning a reunion special. Payne has since been featured after his death in Netflix’s talent competition Building the Band.
Zayn and Louis were involved in a social media spat away in 2015, when the one claimed the other of making “snide comments” about him.
This pair were spotted in public recently, and Tomlinson was asked about speculation that they would be collaborating. “I saw that,” he said. “I found that was quite interesting, yeah … Very astute. I suppose they’ll just have to wait and see.”
Last month, Malik revealed a Las Vegas residency set for the coming year.
The currently untitled series is expected to premiere on Netflix in 2026. It represents the latest star-fronted factual venture on the service, with upcoming documentaries focusing on stars including Victoria Beckham, Eddie Murphy, and the pop group Take That.
