Approximately fifty automobiles have been covered with what seems to be blood from a person in the Germany's municipality of Hanau near Frankfurt, as reported by law enforcement.
Cars, walls and mailboxes were vandalized, occasionally with swastikas, they stated in a official communication.
Law enforcement report they were alerted in the late hours on Wednesday, when a individual discovered that a vehicle in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been marked with a reddish-hued liquid.
The liquid had been applied in the pattern of a Nazi symbol, they reported.
Officers then discovered many other vandalized cars and residential walls in the surrounding area.
Nazi symbols are prohibited in Germany under regulations prohibiting the public display of Nazi-era symbols.
Law enforcement report initial examinations indicate the substance was probably human blood.
"There is still no indication as to its source; officials are not yet cognizant of any injuries in relation with the incident," they added.
Local authorities announced they were trying "to resolve the mystery" and have asked to the residents for details.
An important official stated the attack rendered him speechless and required to be addressed promptly.
"This event hits the very heart of Hanau and reopens the pain of the right-wing terrorist attack five years ago," he posted on a platform, mentioning the killing of nine individuals by a shooter targeting people of migrant background in February 2020.
